After two weeks of long days we finally finished the staircase. Its not sealed yet, but we can get upstairs and organize the baby room a little better. When the last tread was screwed in there was a bout of cleaning and organizing as today is the first day we could have a home delivery. We are grateful the weather has been so cooperative for building outside- you appreciate a sunny stretch in Holland. With the exception of a few minor things we are ready as we can be for a home birth- the bed is raised up and the table is set up with everything the midwives need. Its a pretty steep walk up the stairs as we were limited by the tiny hallway above; its actually easy going up but the descent takes a bit more getting used to.
