Swim!

James and his BFF Sadie have just finished their second year of swim lessons. The program involved two weeks of hour-a-day lessons. Friday was the final lesson. Good times.

They were so much better than last year. The first day of this year's session they were a bit like last time, but by the second day they'd surpassed their skill level from last year. In other words: they rocked.

Izzy brought her camera for the final day of class, which included a jump off the diving board. They kind of just dropped the little kids off, but they asked them first-- they didn't throw kids in who were crying or anything. They were in the youngest group and BOTH James and Sadie took the plunge. Much bigger kids cowered at the edge of the diving board before they asked to go back and sit down, so we were pretty proud of them.

Here is a slide show where you can see them in action... and check out Willy's BFF Eva. I especially like the shot of them hugging. They are like peas in a pod.

Art and Writing

Just wanted to share one of James' delightful pictures. He LOVES to draw, and keeps our fridge covered in images year round. Here is a great picture he made last week.

Also- I (Kat) have started a different blog, this one is more about writing than family stuff, but I would like to invite you to check it out.

Some of you may or may not know that I have been doing some creative writing, working on Young Adult and Middle Grade fiction. This is a blog where I recount what is happening in that world. Feel free to drop in, but for most of you it may prove boring, as there are few or no photos of the boys there, sorry ;0(

I am also trying to use my more flexible summer schedule to update this blog more often.
So hopefully you can get your James and Willy fix here.
