Zo begint het...
Six goals to start the 2006 World Cup with Germany beating Costa Rica 4-2 in a defensive struggle. Sunday the Netherlands fields one of the best teams in the world against Serbia-Montenegro and Monday a very decent U.S. squad begins its campaign against the Czech Republic in if not the toughest, easily one of the most difficult groups with Ghana and Italy. The neighbors have strung orange flags across the street and yesterday people were already blowing their @#*#@ airhorns on the street.

Must be fun to see people over there get so excited. There are pockets of excitement over here, but it would be interesting to experience it there.
Sounds fun except for the air horns!
I think it is cool that soccer players can wind their legs up to kick like that.
We are waking at 5 to see the games here(also showing at 11 am). Josh bought cable for the event. We are seeking friendly bartenders at the local 24hour joint to lend the tv to the few that want to watch soccer in Alaska. Rough!! Pictures of the festivities please...We'll call you back soon too...is 7:30 am a little too early? It's been a debate for the last few nights and then we get too tired to call. Such wimps. I did see the coverage on the news here today, and thought of you. The AJC had an article about Budweiser being the official beer, and how the Germans were outraged about it, since they consider it water. I would think so! Have fun watching the games and enjoying the festivites.
